Jesse Lingard is hoping to extend his Birmingham City loan after the midfielder scored four goals on his debut against Sheffield Wednesday.

Birmingham City boss Lee Clark wants Jesse Lingard to extend loan stay
The England Under-21 international dropped down to the Championship after sealing a one-month loan switch to St Andrews last week.

The 20-year-old scored a blistering 33-minute hat-trick against the Owls before netting his fourth in the second half to seal a 4-1 win.

“It’s a dream come true,” Lingard said. “To get four goals and three points on my debut is massive.

Earlier this summer, United legend Peter Schmeichel tipped Lingard to develop into an important Red Devils player in the coming seasons after the youngster’s impressive pre-season displays.
David Moyes will be pleased in the way that some players have grasped their opportunity,” Schmeichel said.
“I’m thinking about Jesse Lingard who is coming home from the tour as top goalscorer.
“He had a very brief stay at Leicester and it didn’t really come off for him but he played for the reserves again and was the best player in the reserves squad.
