Jonny Evans a graduate if Manchester United famous academy and now following in the footsteps of many famous name who made a mark on the first team after graduating from academy. Spotted at the age of 9 Jonny was always reckoned to be the one who would make it at utd but it hasn't been an easy ride for him by any means.He enjoyed successful loan spells at utd's belgian feeder club Royal antwerp and Sunderland but on his return to utd saw his opportunities limited behind the regular Centre halves Rio and Nemanja and then Wes Brown. Evans was heavily criticised for his performances early specially after his red card in manchester derby leading to many believing he would never be a Man utd standard player but since that red card he has proved his every critic wrong and has put in flawless performances after flawless performances.

STYLE OF PLAY:

Evans like to tackle his stats show he made an average of 2.3 tackles per game last season (most by any utd's CB) and he likes to get the ball out of defence which his key pass stats from last season show as he averaged 1.4 key passes per game and loves going forward whenever he can.

 

STRENGTH:

Reads the game pretty well his anticipation of the play has increased dramatically in recent season as his interception stats from last season show that he made 60 interceptions with that he also stays calm under pressure situations which leads him to make right decision at right times and his great pace helps him make those last ditch challenges too.Just a small video of Jonny Intercepting a key pass.

 

WEAKNESS:

His weakness is when he comes up against very physical players he tends to struggle a bit

MOST IMPROVED PART IF HIS GAME:

Evans has improved his heading greatly he is now commanding in his own box as well as in the opponent's box to as his stats from last season show 50 headed clearences along with 3 headed goals.
After Vidic's injury evans came in and though its very hard to fill vidic's boots he filled them more or less as he was the best defender last season

From sloppy performances to being rock solid Jonny Evans has become a perfect example of a defender maturing and coming to age big thing are expected from Evans as Rio nears the end of his career.
