David De Gea was signed from Atlético Madrid for £17m and became the second most expensive goal keeper and Utd's 9th most expensive player. De Gea began his career at Atlético and quickly came through the ranks to establish himself as their No.1 and signed fir utd after having two brilliant seasons at Atlético.

His debut season at Old Trafford was a mixed bag to say the least though a slow start was improved upon in the second-half of the campaign, when he began to get to grips with the physical side of the Premier League. De Gea's initial rocky patch saw him replaced by Anders Lindegaard in January but an injury to the Danish keeper allowed him to step back into the breach and after reclaiming the No. 1 spot he has held on to it until now.

PLAYING STYLE:

Agile and acrobatic, a talented youngster who could become one of the best.

STRENGTH:

An outstanding shot-stopper, he has an eye for a spectacular save and an impressive amount of experience for such a young goalkeeper.

WEAKNESS:

De gea lacks physicality and is out-muscled on too many occasions from corners and crosses but now he seems to be overcoming it. Another weakness is language barrier which prevents communication on the pitch.

AREAS TO IMPROVE:

David de gea can certainly improve his cross and corner collection and as over the past 2 years he has physically matured it will be now be easier for him to cope with high balls.

QUOTES:

“Looking at De Gea, I’m happy he’s at United as he’s a really good goalkeeper. He is without doubt my successor.” Peter Schmeichel

So, Can De Gea become No.1 keeper in the world ??

He definitely can for a 22 year old De Gea is very matured and experienced and is already being classified among the top Goal keepers in the world and one can imagine how high can De Gea reach once he hits his prime.
David Moyes and United were thankful for him on Wednesday night in the Donbass Arena. As he saved Taison's shot in 86th min giving utd a draw.
He has developed so much both mentally and physically in the two years since that first chastening experience against Norwich to trip to Donbass Areana.

David De Gea is tipped by every legend and even his team mates at Atlético to become a great as they nicknamed him Van Der Gea.
