How Marouane Fellaini's arrival has given David Moyes plenty of tactical options?

 Fellaini's role as we have seen in recent games has been of a defensive midfielder which he has fulfilled quite brilliantly but the thing about which David Moyes will be delighted about is that he can now free up Micheal Carrick from his defensive duties and use him as a creative force. Before Fellaini's arrival Carrick had the responsibility of being the defensive midfielder as well as creative too because his partners (Cleverley and Anderson) weren't providing much creative spark either so Carrick had to do both jobs but now as Fellaini has entered the scene Carrick can be relieved of the defensive duties and can now concentrate on creative part.

Another thing which Moyes will be happy to see is Fellaini's arrival will help him get Shinji Kagawa in the starting line up more often and play Carrick and Fellaini both as defensive midfielder freeing up Kagawa and Wayne in front of them.

Carrick's Defensive Stats

Before Fellaini's Arrival:

Successful tackles = 10
Interceptions = 22
Clearances = 10

After Fellaini's Arrival:

Successful tackles = 3
Interceptions = 5
Clearances = 3

Fellaini's Defensive Stats Show

Successful tackles = 6
Interceptions = 7
Clearances = 9

 Carrick's Offensive Performance:

Before Fellaini's Arrival

Chances created =1

Passes in final third = 44

After Fellaini's Arrival

Chances created = 3
Passes in final third = 53

Stats clearly show that Fellaini has taken over Defensive responsibilities and Carrick has been freed to do all his Creative work further up the field.

Buying Fellaini looks like a master stroke from David Moyes
